"The race is on to understand the Thwaites Glacier in West Antarctica, the world's widest glacier which is retreating and changing rapidly. As warming changes this icy place, communities and governments around the world need the best possible answer to the sea level rise question: how much and how fast?

Glaciologists Meghan Sharp and Professor Sridhar Anandakrishnan, and oceanographer Dr Pete Davis talk about their epic field work to study Thwaites Glacier, and explain the key mechanics that are shaping its future."

    Virtual Field Labs

Video Series | Ice Drilling Program

Ep. 2: Measuring the changing size of the Thwaites Eastern Ice Shelf

Take a virtual trip to "Antarctica to analyze the stability of Thwaites, the world’s most dangerous glacier. Vital signs are taken using satellite imagery to see how much sea levels may rise in the future. A quest to see if the “Doomsday Glacier” nickname is deserving."

In addition to my participation in the recording of this online learning resource, I attended an in-person premiere of the three-episode series in Sacramento, California, where I engaged with community members of all ages through a Q&A panel and an ice core "show-and-tell".

    Inspiring Girls* Expeditions

    Instructor, Coordinator

Aiming to increase the participation and diversity of people in the field sciences, art, and recreation, Inspiring Girls* Expeditions are tuition-free backcountry programs for youth.

Through my involvement as both an instructor and program coordinator, I co-founded and isntructed the innaugral Girls* on Ice Canada- Yukon Expedition, led the Pacific Northwest Branch, and instructed Women* on Ice.

A highlight for me was demonstrating the "glacier goo" experiment in the proglacial landscape of the Wapta Icefield in Alberta, Canada!
